eh.. how come not everyone went to church on Sunday? even though the leaders were at Leaders Retreat doesn't mean u all can excuse urself!!

hope this kinda thing doesn't happen again ok.. if u cant make it.. at least inform us.. and of coz.. with a valid reason..

coz we dun just come to church just for friends or for CG or wat.. we also come to hear the Word of God being preached..

hi guys!

woah it is really great to experience God's works! it is really cool! i have learnt alot through this camp especially through uncle's david sharing and i learnt lots of stuff involving god! i also have a great time playing during the games time! haha! i also meet alot of new friends like natalie, adrielle, ericsson and more! they are so good to me! it is fun and cool! hope that you all can join UMAD6 next year!

Hi Faithfulness!

*cough cough* havent fully recovered from my illness... but then i had to go to UMAD 5!!! haha.. lots of shouting cheering and screaming (for Alex).. tats y i'm still voiceless =)

anyway.. just wanna say how happy i am that Alex and Marcus had such a great time and fitted in with everyone! Can really see how everyone took care of them and how they enjoyed themselves.. =) I'll let them tell u more in their own reflections entry!

so basically UMAD 5 for me is really a great experience.. really learnt some key lessons and i particularly enjoyed the games! as compared to UMAD 4.. i had much much less to do.. besides being in the worship teams and leading bible study sessions.. being the oldest in the group .. i was given the responsibility to teach and help the group leaders along.. =)
If u observed closely.. this UMAD is different from other UMADs because of the sheer number of young young youths involved in key roles! from the committee all the way to the group leaders.. u can see many sec 1s to sec 4s...

the CYM leaders deliberately chose to take a step back and only play a facilitating role..
and i'm really encouraged to see how everyone rose to the occasion.. nevermind the small hiccups along the way! we are all learning as we serve and i'm sure this camp has allowed the youths themselves to have greater ownership of CYM...

notice that Lindsay, Anne and Junie were group leaders this time round.. even though they are only sec 1 and 2.. they have showed a sense of responsibility and willingness to learn... tats y they were given the opportunity! =) in addition.. shermay and many others were also involved in the games committee...
i hope that this will also serve as an encouragement for u all!! haha to not think that you are too young to serve! most important thing is to be available and say 'YES' to God.. asking Him to teach u new things as u take up new responsibilities.. as such.. i would like to ask that we all consider starting to serving the Lord in small ways..

It's indeed my prayer that even in difficult circumstances you might be able to find peace. The peace that only Jesus can give. That in the midst of a struggle you might be able to know who to call upon. Even though you haven't been joining us.. and you probably wont see this blog as well.. but i just want to say that you are not forgotten.. and that you are precious in the eyes of God..

hey Faithfulness... just want to urge all of us to remember each other in our prayers.. coz when we cant physically do anything for each other.. or do things to show our care, concern and love, Prayer works.. and God sees the heart! =)

each one of us are precious in God's eyes.. so are your friends! so should there be any newcomers in the future.. lets me sure to show them LOVE! so tat they too can experience the Love that God first gave us!

Hokies... my reflections for the retreat!

Two things that ive learnt from the retreat:

1. U can have fun serving God in all areas.
Like initially i wanted to do admin for the retreat, but i got arrowed to do games instead. i was rather hesitant but after the retreat, i would have to say that it was a good learning experience! Plus i got to know Rita better! (Ben & Jerry's rocks!!!)

2. Secondly, i think ive learnt to love each person with the love of God.
In life, we will come across many people, some that we can get along with, and others that we will have friction with. But if we look at them with the eyes of Jesus, we can see that they are just fellow humans like us... then we will see their strengths and learn to accept their weaknesses.

Lastly, i would like to say that i love FAITHFULNESS!!!!! Each and every person in the CG...
i thoroughly enjoyed your company and i am thankful for the opportunity to know each one of you better... like i as telling Mark... this is the most tiring retreat ever, but also the most fulfilling one :)

I hope that this "bond" within our cg will always carry on... and not only during retreats or outings. Remember that we are the body of Christ! so let us constantly encourage and support one another with the love of Christ... cos if a part of the body falls ill, the other parts will feel it too!

Oh yar... not forgetting to mention that i am super touched by all your enthusiasm... i have said it before and i have to say it again... i was really encouraged by Hannah's attitude during the nightwalk. Despite her fears, she trusted the leaders and mustered all her courage to jump across the "drain". This is what i call true "determinism" (if there is such a word) Hahaha. Kudos to you Hannah!

okok.. i know i wrote "lastly" three paragraphs before this but im "lor soh" lar... So this lastly is really lastly. Lastly, I would like to take this opportunity to welcome Alex to Faithfulness cg!!! You complete us! Of cos we got lots of space for more new friends... just wanna say that we really enjoy having you around Alex! :) I am also proud of Faithfulness CG cos you guys made an effort to make Alex feel welcome in our little family :)

no Bible Study... but we'll spend time looking at the past half a year.. and looking ahead for the 2nd half of the year as well!!
too bad Hannah and Marvin wont be around for the review!

mmmm.. hopefully we can spend more time over lunch after CG more often ok?

Gosh I am so good with puns.

Anyway I am really glad to have went for the retreat. I have been bumming around at home and I really miss Canada alot. :( It is really heartening to see how much you guys and gals have bonded and grown over these past few months as a cell group and we have to thank God for that! Continue to encourage one another and share alright? Because it is through sharing that we can grow and learn more about God. And Liangfu, your faithfulness to the cg is really heartening as well. :) And I pray that from a sponge that is feeling dry you will feel soaked pretty soon ehs? And yesh please pray for your dearest Aunty Rita here because she is feeling kinda displaced and lost.

So yups that's all folks. Don't feel campsick lars... you still see each other in church right?

Hi Faithfulness!
Would like to blog about the CG retreat as i look back..
and i encourage u all to also leave an entry here for all to see..
tell us ur experience.. wat u felt was good and bad..
so we all can learn!

First of all..
i have learnt more about planning such a retreat/camp.. i'm so glad tat my experiences from prefects, student council, army and umad has enabled me to have a good idea how to plan for camps.. but it seems i still have much to learn.. even as many things were left last min.. things are always going to go wrong.. =) but we must all learn to deal with them as they come.. good example being the spoilt projector..

next.. i learnt more about my fellow CG leaders!! its really great to see everyone on the team so enthusiastic and helpful.. taking great initiative and showing much care and concern for the youths.. =) well done girls! hopefully planning for worship and games enabled u all to learn something as well..

i would like to also mention how proud i am of all of u.. coz it is actually the campers who make the camp a success!! u guys were cooperative and supportive of ur leaders.. extremely sporting during the games and generally fun to be with!!

thanks to Marvin and Marcus.. who deserves special mention for voluntarily helping up with the clean up of the areas without us asking.. Dong specifically asked me to praise u guys.. =)

it was also great to see how u guys took Silence and Solitude so seriously.. taking the effort to think and pray and answer the questions.. i also saw many of u reading the Bible and meditating on what u have learnt.. it really encourages me and i hope tat this discipline of Silence and Solitude can be transfered out of retreat and into ur own devotional life as well.. spending some regular quiet time with God helps us to reflect on God's goodness in our lives .. and also helps us to listen better to the voice of God.

i must praise the girls! i know u Hannah and Alex were really freaked out coz i was near them.. and Chloe as well coz i went back to see.. and i know just how hard it was to Jump.. when u didnt know how big the drain was.. or how deep it was.. it was just SCARY!! (i have gone through it before so i know!) It was particularly touching for me to see Hannah and Alex hugging each other after they jumped.. really brave of u guys to trust that the leaders will be there to catch u.. as i mentioned.. very often we have to Jump and trust that God can and WILL catch us.. it doesnt matter how far we can jump.. =) .. Marvin.. being the 1st in the long line.. deserved special mention also.. very brave.. =)

And also.. i think that Benjamin, Alex and Hannah contributed very well during our discussions.. =)

oh ya.. about serving one another.. (hope the feet washing wasnt too ticklish).. i hope u all remember the lesson k? indeed how blessed are we to be able to serve God and one another through the CG!

Chloe, even though i saw your gradual transition from quiet to noisy.. =) .. it was still rather shocking to see u so loud and outgoing suddenly.. i hope its coz u have become really comfy with all of us.. and u did a good job explaining Patrick during the fashion show...

all in all.. i really enjoyed myself!!
